On the occasion of my husband’s transitioning from private practice to joining a group surgical practice, we decided to have a celebration with longtime friends. It was our good fortune to find the perfect musical duo to help celebrate: vocalist / keyboardist, Kanttara Naba and her partner and AV-MC, Fun’kgoloist. They were such a lovely addition to the party ; great mood music, some lively, some mellow, never overpowering. It seemed that they were able to sense the mood of the guests and to select pieces that enhanced the experience that evening. Kanttara has a beautiful voice and an incredible range of musical styles! We first heard Kanttara’s voice on the pavilion of the Hunterdon Art Museum. At that moment, we knew that we wanted her to sing and enhance the atmosphere of our wedding at the Black Bass Hotel. From our 1st conversation to the last beat of our final dance, we were impressed by the level of professionalism, reliability, intuition, sensitivity, creativity and dedication Kanttara brought to the most precious day of our lives. She worked with our events coordinator and evaluated the environment, choosing instruments and musicians that would work best in the space and with the mood we were trying to create. She sought our input while also adding her distinctive touch and expertise that complimented our decisions. Everyone commented on how beautiful the music was- timeless and perfect. And the celebratory notch was kicked up by Akinyele Onisegun Karade. Our guests had so much fun! The energy and vibe was contagious! Kanttara and her band made our night more special than I could have ever imagined, and we are so grateful that her gifts created the magic that was felt by all. Todd and Terri Lambrix
